CLUB INFO
Maharashtra Kala Samiti Annual Report

The rich history of Sophia College reflects its long-standing support for cultural diversity. At this prestigious institution we not only celebrate but also promote and protect our culture. The Maharashtra Kala Samiti club was inaugurated on 1st May 2023 and is dedicated to promote and preserve Maharashtrian culture among the students.

The club's primary objective is to host cultural events like Marathi language workshops, live performances of traditional music and dance, and competitions. This would encourage students to actively engage in Maharashtra's distinctive and vibrant culture by introducing them to it. We would also celebrate various Marathi festivals like Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Makar Sankranti, and Gudi Padwa in accordance with Maharashtrian customs. Traditional decorations, cultural performances, and sessions on the significance of the festivals.

Club workshops, and interactive sessions would be scheduled on a regular basis to increase member engagement. This would promote active participation in club activities and help foster community among the members. A Marathi cultural club at Sophia College could help students develop a sense of pride and appreciation for Marathi culture and have a long-lasting effect on both the institution and the community.
