ANANYA is a unique intercollegiate festival, which focuses more on academic and socially relevant themes. Every year, a theme linked to the goals of the college is chosen. A departmentwise action plan is drawn up and the theme is incorporated in both classroom teaching and co-curricular activities. Students have an opportunity to participate in a variety of academic activities such as talks, seminars, workshops, assignments, debates and discussion.
They are encouraged to carry out minor research projects and make presentations. This takes the student beyond the confines of syllabus and curriculum and forms the much needed broad base on which true education should rest. Some of the themes in the past years were: Woman: A New Awareness, Women and Health, and Women and Environment. The yearlong activities culminate in a two-day intercollegiate event called ANANYA, when competitions, workshops, presentations and exhibitions on the chosen theme are held. The cultural extravaganza Kaleidoscope is thus balanced by a more academically oriented event Ananya, while the Peace Fortnight makes students aware of the values of freedom and peaceful co-existence. |
